ABA Grants Members Access to Innovative Online Marketplace for Health and Ancillary Benefits; Ensures Members Can Comply with ACA Health Insurance Mandate
CHICAGO, IL – September 23, 2014 –The American Bus Association (ABA), the trade association for the Motorcoach, Group Tour and Travel industry, has partnered with ConnectedHealth to offer the ABA Insurance Service, a consumer-focused ecommerce benefits platform. ABA members will be able to shop for public and private market health insurance plans and other ancillary products on the platform. Both ABA and ConnectedHealth are jointly working with a key consultant of ABA Insurance Exchange, Marc Ballard, to launch the new platform.
“The launch of the new ABA Insurance Service through ConnectedHealth will make purchasing affordable and high quality healthcare easy for our members and their employees,” said Peter Pantuso, President and CEO at ABA. “The intuitive online platform allows our members to offer a variety of health insurance options — including regional and national plans — to their employees, with built-in decision-support tools that make the online shopping process seamless and personalized.”
The ConnectedHealth Smart Choices™ Marketplace, which the ABA has branded the ABA Insurance Service, provides an easy-to-use ecommerce platform that is also fully integrated with the federal marketplace. ABA will also be the first partner to leverage new functionality from ConnectedHealth that further simplifies the administration of benefits within its marketplaces. It can be customized to each partner with the ability to set defined contribution amounts and upload participant enrollment information through a wizard-like functionality. By choosing ConnectedHealth’s consumer-focused solution, ABA offers its members the support and guidance they need to feel confident that they have selected the right coverage for themselves and their families.
“We are seeing increasing demand for our solution from associations in various industries, including the transportation industry, as they work to maintain a competitive edge and add value to their membership programs,” said Joe Donlan, President of ConnectedHealth. “Our Smart Choices Marketplace transforms how consumers shop for health insurance, enabling them to make informed decisions about benefits and maximize their healthcare dollars.”
